Macnas Parade: The Macnas Parade takes place in the city centre from 17:30 to 19:00. Rolling road closures will result in the following service diversions: • Routes 402, 404, 405 and 407 will divert via Quincentenary Bridge between 17:15 and 20:40. Lower Newcastle, University Rd, Francis St, Eglington St and North Eyre Square will be without service as a result. Passengers wishing to travel Eastbound on these routes will need to board at stops 5 and 6 on East Eyre Square. • Route 401 will divert via Quincentenary Bridge between 18:30 and 20:00. News: Bus Éireann signs €3m contract with Hitachi to begin electrification of Limerick depot — 19th May, 2023

Bus Éireann, the national bus company, has recently appointed Hitachi Energy Ireland to deliver the first phase of electrifying the depot at Roxboro, following a competitive tender process. This project is funded by the National Transport Authority as part of the transformation of Ireland’s urban bus fleets to zero tailpipe emission vehicles.
