Customer notice for Bus Éireann services during Westlife concerts in Pairc Uí Chaoimh

Bus Éireann customers in Cork are advised that they can get to the Westlife concerts in Pairc Uí Chaoimh this Friday, 12 August and Saturday 13 August on existing Bus Éireann services.

2,000 children to take part in Aldi Community Games National Athletics Track and Field Finals

2,000 children from all over Ireland will travel to SETU Carlow Sports Complex this weekend to take part in the first of the National Aldi Community Games events. Children aged between six and sixteen will be competing in the National Athletics Track and Field Finals with 28 different track events and 14 field events starting from 9am until 7pm. Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company is very proud to be the National Travel Partner of Community Games and will have employees on site to meet and greet athletes, family and friends this Saturday, 13 of August at SETU Carlow Sports Complex.

One year since the introduction of Ireland’s first hydrogen buses

Bus Éireann and the National Transport Authority (NTA) are marking the one-year anniversary of the introduction of Ireland’s first hydrogen fuel-cell electric double-deck buses, which have so far delivered over 60,000 kilometres emission free, the equivalent of travelling between Dublin and Sydney three-and-a-half times.

Bus Éireann services for Mullingar Fleadh, Sunday 31 July to Sunday 7 August

Bus Éireann is advising customers hoping to attend the opening festivities of Mullingar Fleadh this weekend, Sunday 31st July that Expressway Route 22 and Route 23 and PSO Route 115 services will be operating to regularly scheduled timetables, with some stops in Mullingar unable to be serviced due to diversions in place for Mullingar Fleadh.

Bus Éireann announces special direct shuttle services for passengers travelling to the Galway Races

Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is encouraging racing fans to leave their cars at home when travelling to the Galway Races between Monday, 25 July and Sunday, 31 July, by taking one of their special shuttle services from Eyre Square to Galway Racecourse at Ballybrit instead.

From today, Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is encouraging customers in Dublin and Letterkenny to return their plastic bottles and aluminium drinks cans to reverse vending machines in its bus stations. Between the two stations there is an expected footfall of over 3m passengers a year that will be able to avail of the reverse vending machines.

Bus Éireann, TFI Local Link Kerry and Fáilte Ireland launch new Travel around Kerry brochure

Bus Éireann, operating on behalf of Transport for Ireland has partnered with TFI Local Link Kerry and Fáilte Ireland to launch a new Travel Around Kerry brochure. This brochure provides information about Bus Éireann and TFI Local Link services connecting Kerry’s towns and villages. In addition, the brochure highlights how all passengers including tourists can benefit from the recent 20% fare reduction on PSO bus services in County Kerry and the 50% reduction available for those with a TFI Student or Young Adult Leap Card, introduced by the National Transport Authority.

New installation by artist OMIN unveiled by Bus Éireann & An Táin Arts Centre

Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company has partnered with An Táin Arts Centre to unveil a new art installation at Drogheda bus station as part of Louth Culture Quest. The installation, by artist OMIN will be in place until the end of this year.

Minister at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD, Bus Éireann driver Caroline Feeney

Galway West TD and Minister of State at the Department of Transport Hildegard Naughton today marked the first year since the introduction of hybrid double-deck buses to Bus Éireann’s Galway fleet. The new buses were purchased by the National Transport Authority and by this week will have delivered 200,000 kilometres of emission-free public transport in the city, saving almost 230 tonnes of carbon tailpipe emissions.

150,000 emission-free kilometres on Bus Éireann network in 2021

New, more sustainable buses, procured through the NTA, allowed passengers to travel over 150,000 emission-free kilometres in 2021, according to Bus Éireann’s first Annual Sustainability Report.
