Macroom Music Festival - affecting Cork Route 40

Cork County Council have advised that the R618 (former N22) Main Street, Macroom, from Masseytown Junction to Chapel Hill Junction, will close to traffic from 12:30pm on Saturday, 22 June until 12:30am on Sunday, 23 June 2024 to facilitate the Macroom Music Festival.

As a result, Route 40 services will not be able to access Macroom Depot and will operate as follows:

Inbound Route 40 services will turn left off New Street before the bridge and operate via Masseytown and Mill Road, proceeding to eastern end of town and re-joining main road at Coachford Junction.

Outbound Route 40 services will turn right before Macroom Town at Coachford Junction and proceed left via Mill Road to Masseytown, turning right after passing O’Riada’s Bar onto New Street and normal route thereafter.

Passengers wishing to board/alight services in Macroom in either direction will be facilitated on New Street or at Coachford Junction.
