Services in the Southern region affected by St Patrick's Day celebrations

Due to road closures resulting from St. Patrick’s Day celebrations this Friday, 17 March, services to/from Cork City will operate with diversions between 11am and 6pm. Please see below for a list of temporary bus stops where passengers can access our services.

Northbound

Route 202, Knocknaheeny: Mulgrave Rd/St. Patrick’s Quay (Near Mary Elmes Bridge)

Route 203, Farranree: Mulgrave Rd/St. Patrick’s Quay (Near Mary Elmes Bridge)

Route 205, Kent Station: McCurtain Street

Route 207, Ballyvolane: McCurtain Street

Route 207A, Glenthorn: St. Patrick’s Quay (Near Mary Elmes Bridge)

Route 208, Mayfield: McCurtain Street

Route 213, Black Ash Park & Ride Service

First service will depart from Black Ash Park & Ride Site and serve Anglesea Street at 08:36, with final service from Anglesea Street at 20:30

Services to Macroom/West Cork/Tralee (Routes 233, 236, 237, 239 and 40(Tralee)) will depart from Parnell Place Bus Station, serving Provincial Bus Stop, Washington Street.

Road closures for local parades will affect services as follows:

Carrigtwohill

Carrigtwohill St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023, from 13:15 to 15:15 approximately.

Outbound services are not affected.

Inbound service 13.35 ex Ballinacurra will be unable to serve Carrigtwohill during this closure.

Cahir

Cahir St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023, and as a result the Main Street will be closed from 11:30 to 14:00 approximately.

During this closure, passengers should board services at disused garage forecourt (Keatings Garage) opposite the Mart on the Old Cork Road.

Clonakilty

St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Clonakilty will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023 and as a result the Main Street will be closed to traffic from 14:30 to 16:30 approximately.

As a result Route 237 services will operate via the By-Pass for the duration of the closure.

Fermoy

St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fermoy will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023 from 11:00 to 13:00 approximately.

Customers should be facilitated to board and alight services by Abbeyville Guesthouse for duration of event.

Macroom

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Macroom on Friday, 17 March 2023, the Main Street will be closed from 15:00 to 17:00 approximately.

The following Route 40 services will not be able to enter Macroom Depot:

  • 16:15 Route 40 service from Macroom to Tralee
  • 16:55 Route 40 service from Macroom to Cork

Passengers wishing to board/alight these services will be facilitated at New Street or Coachford Junction

Mallow

Mallow St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023 from 13:00 to 16:00 approximately.

Customers travelling to Limerick should board bus services prior to Train Station.

Customers travelling to Cork will be facilitated on Cork Road opposite Roundabout Inn.

Mitchelstown

Mitchelstown St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Friday, 17 March, 2023, and as a result the Main Street will be closed from 12:45 to 14:30 approximately.

As a result, Route 245X will operate via Georges St, inbound and outbound. Customers can board services at Oisin House, junction of Robert Street & George’s Street, for travel outbound to Dublin and opposite Oisin House for services inbound to Cork.

Youghal

Youghal St. Patricks Day Parade will take place on Friday, 17 March 2023, and as a result the Main Street will be closed from 15:00 to 16:00 approximately.

Outbound passengers can board services at Summerfield Cross, Cork Hill or end of Cork Hill.

Passengers travelling from Youghal to Cork can board services at Aherne’s end of Cork Hill and at Summerfield Cross.
