Road closure affecting Cork City Routes 220 & 220X

Cork County Council have just contacted this office and advised that R612 Crosshaven Road, will close for emergency works, with immediate effect and will remain closed until further notice. This is due to a damaged water pipe / road in dangerous condition.

Route 220 outbound to Crosshaven will operate as normal from Carrigaline on R612 to junction at O’Leary’s Cross. At O’Leary’s Cross services will turn right to travel on R612 towards Myrtleville, continuing ahead via Forge Cross, Myrtleville Cross and Goat’s Cross following R612 until junction with Brightwater. At the junction with Brightwater, services will turn right, continuing ahead via Brightwater to junction with Church Bay Road. At junction with Church Bay Road, services will turn left and continue ahead towards Crosshaven Village.

For services resuming return journey to Cork City/Ballincollig, at the junction with Church Bay Road and Crosshaven Village (Cronin’s Pub) services will continue on to roundabout, travelling around the roundabout and taking exit to return to Church Bay Road, operating diversion in reverse order.

Services operating to Camden, will take the exit for Camden at the roundabout and operate as per normal Route.

For inbound services from Camden, services will operate as per normal Route to junction with Camden Road and Crosshaven Village (Cronin’s Pub) and then turn left to join Church Bay Road, then operate as per diversion in reverse order.

Route 220X outbound is unaffected and should operate as per normal via Church Bay Road to junction with Crosshaven Village. Then operate as per Route 220 diversion, travelling around Roundabout to take exit to re-join Church Bay Road to operate inbound
