Expressway Fare Updates from January 2025

From 6 January 2025, changes to Expressway fares will be introduced. These updates are designed to ensure we can continue delivering quality service while still offering great value to our customers. Our decision has not been taken lightly and these changes are vital to sustaining our services and helping us to invest in our business.

Why Are Fares Changing?

Like many transport operators, Expressway is experiencing rising costs in areas such as fuel, fleet maintenance and insurance. As a result our fares will increase by an average of 4%, with most adult single fares rising between 50c to €1. While these adjustments are essential to sustaining our services, we remain committed to offering excellent value through our wide range of ticket options and our online fares discounts.

Great Value Options:

We remain committed to offering affordable travel options:

  • Weekly Travel Passes: Flexibility for hybrid workers with our Six Journey and 10 Journey Weekly Passes.
  • Early Bird Discounts: Save 33% on tickets purchased at least seven days in advance (limited availability).
  • Off-Peak Fares: Travel for just €9.95 on select routes, offering up to 60% savings.
  • Return Ticket Discounts: 20% off adult return, multi-leg, and family return tickets when purchased online.
  • Young Adult & Student Discounts: Pay just 50% of standard adult fares online or on board with a valid Leap Card.
