Share your funniest travel stories with Bus Éireann at the Ploughing to win iPads & more

Travel to the National Ploughing Championships stress free

Heading to National Ploughing Championships next week? Avoid the queues and let public transport get you there. Bus Éireann are providing shuttle buses direct to the Screggan site from Tullamore Train Station and with dedicated bus lanes en-route, a swift and stress-free journey is guaranteed.

The shuttle service is connected with train arrival and departure times and will operate from Tullamore Train Station to the National Ploughing Championships - September 18th-20th - from 7.00am until 11.30am daily, with return journeys running from 13.45pm and 18.45pm.

Return Ticket cost €9 for adults, €5 for children (16 and under) and €20 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Visit www.irishrail.ie and www.buseireann.ie for scheduled timetables and fees. Bus Éireann will also be operating a Park and Ride facility from the official car parks, direct to the exhibition site. These are complimentary shuttles.

Share your funniest travel stories on Bus Éireann’s Big Red Chair

There are lots of exciting prizes up for grabs at Bus Éireann’s tent this year including a year’s free travel and iPads. Comedian Tom O’Mahony will be on hand to entertain visitors and to host the ‘Big Red Chair’ sessions, which will happen twice daily. Visitors will be invited to tell their most incredible travel stories to win great prizes, including goodie bags and iPads.

Taking inspiration from The Graham Norton Show and Bus Éireann’s Big Red character, Bus Éireann’s ‘Big Red Chair’ will create a platform for visitors to share their funniest stories that poke fun at the well-travelled Irish who have connections across the globe whilst highlighting the valuable national connections we all share.

One lucky visitor to the marquee will be in with a chance to win up to €2,500 worth of free travel, and giveaways will include ponchos, pens, Leap Cards, chocolates and key rings.

Staff will be on hand to showcase TFI Leap Card savings which will be available all on Bus Éireann PSO services nationwide from next month, offering customers a cheaper, flexible and more convenient way to travel.

Music highlights

Visitors to the Bus Éireann tent can also look forward to traditional tunes by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, and upbeat melodies from 18-year old singing sensation, Curtis Walsh.

Visitors to the Bus Éireann site at the Ploughing can take a tour of its new ‘Fleet of the Future’ - with an Expressway coach, Bus Éireann double deck and School Bus all on site to explore and enjoy.
