  1. How do I reserve a seat on Expressway services?
  2. Seats may be reserved at time of purchase, either online or through a ticket vending machine. When a seat is not reserved at time of purchase, a €2 charge will apply for any subsequent reservation booking at a later point on time.

However, if a customer boards a service which does not match their reservation time, their ticket will be valid if the service is within three hours from the original time of their reservation, provided there is space on the coach. This does not apply to through (multi-leg) journeys, which are only valid for the specific services displayed on the ticket.

Free Travel Scheme Reservations and Seat Reservations where the customer has prepaid for their tickets, are now available online under the relevant “Seat Reservation Only” option for a fee of €2.00. Customers with Seat Reservations will be given priority boarding. Unless a customer is purchasing a Travel Pass, they will be asked to choose a time and date when buying Online or at a TVM.

  3. How does my online ticket work?
  4. Please present your email to your driver (on your mobile device or printed) to be scanned. Please note that your ticket must be validated by the driver.

Please note if you purchased a return ticket or a weekly 10 Journey Ticket, you must retain your online ticket (on your mobile device or printed) for presentation to the driver on all further journeys.

Tickets issued by Expressway are valid for travel on Expressway services in the Republic of Ireland only.

Customers please note you must travel on the date selected and from the origin selected otherwise driver cannot validate ticket. Also please note break of journey is not permitted except at interchange points for completion of journey by another bus on the same day.

    Tickets are non-transferable.
Tickets which are lost or stolen will not be replaced.

  5. Why did I not receive my confirmation email, after I purchased my ticket online?
  6. Once your transaction has been processed successfully, you should receive email confirmation of your online order immediately. If it has not been delivered to your "inbox", you should check to see if you or your service provider has filtered it to your "junk" folder.

If it does not appear in either your "inbox" or your "junk" folder, please do not hesitate to contact our Online Support Team

  7. Can I get a refund for my Expressway ticket or Online Order which I did not use?
  8. Tickets purchased online may be amended or refunded up to one hour before your selected service is scheduled to depart from its journey origin. Ticket changes are subject to availability and amendment/cancellation fees. Amendments and refunds can be managed through the ‘My Tickets’ portal. For TVM refunds please contact CustomerCare@Expressway.ie. TVM tickets cannot be amended.

  14. Guide-dogs and Assistance Dogs

All guide-dog owners must carry identification cards and the dog must have a tag on its lead which will read “Irish Guide Dog for the Blind”.

Assistance dogs are used by some people with different types of disabilities, such as autism, deafness or balance problems (Stability Dogs).
