Capacity available from Navan and Drogheda

Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick services are sold out


Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is pleased to update on service options for people attending the Harry Styles concert in Slane, Co Meath on Saturday, 10 June 2023.Special Slane services from Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick organised by Expressway are now fully sold out.

Tickets are available on special services running from Drogheda and Navan to Slane and back.  
Buses will depart Navan from St Patrick’s School, and from Drogheda Bus Station. For both locations, departures are on the hour beginning at mid-day: 12 noon, 12.30pm, 1.00pm, 1.30pm, 2.00pm, 2.30pm, 3.00pm, 3.30pm, 4.00pm, 5.00pm, 6.00pm.  Return services will depart Slane at 10.30pm, 11.00pm with final services at 11.30pm.  Slane is a 30 minute journey from both Drogheda and Navan, and return tickets providing a guaranteed seat cost €25.00. They can be booked at expressway.ie

Expressway from Dublin or Dundalk to Drogheda     
To connect with the services from Drogheda, guaranteed seats can also be prebooked for travel between Dublin or Dundalk and Drogheda on Expressway 100X, at expressway.ie.

Connections to Navan and Drogheda
Bus Éireann provides a high level of regular services to Navan and Drogheda under contract to the National Transport Authority.  It is very important to note that these public service obligation routes cannot be prebooked and intending passengers should plan their journeys accordingly.

Routes include the NX from Dublin to Navan, picking up at Wilton Terrace, Pearse Station, Beresford Place and Blanchardstown. The NX travels to Navan every 20 minutes, first departure from Dublin on a Saturday is 6.04am, and last return from Navan is 0.30am, half past midnight. Other routes connecting to Navan include

  • 103X, Dublin-Ashbourne-Navan
  • 109, Dublin-Dunshaughlin-Navan-Kells
  • 109A, Dublin-Ashbourne-Ratoath-Dunshaughlin-Navan-Kells
  • 109X, Dublin-Navan-Kells-Virginia-Cavan

For Drogheda, Route 101 runs from Dublin Busáras to Drogheda every 30 minutes from 5.30am picking up at locations including Drumcondra, Santry, Dublin Airport, Swords and Balbriggan. There are departures from Drogheda every 30 minutes and from midnight on an hourly basis throughout the night.

The first concert in Slane since 2019 is a big moment for everyone as it truly shows the pandemic limits on our lives are behind us,” said Eleanor Farrell, Chief Commercial Officer, Bus Éireann. “Slane really marks a rite of passage for many of the concert goers and we want to make sure their journeys to the event – and especially their safe returns home – are planned well in advance.              

“Guaranteed seats can be booked from Navan and Drogheda and from Dublin and Dundalk to Drogheda at expressway.ie. Bus Éireann also routinely provides excellent connectivity to Drogheda and Navan from Dublin and other east coast locations – however it is important to note that only standard capacity will be available, and that guaranteed seats cannot be booked in advance, even if a ticket is pre-purchased. If using these services, we recommend that people travel early to avoid queueing. We also advise people to use their Leap or Young Adult Leap Cards for the best value on their travel to Slane.”
