Bus Éireann encourages passengers to take the bus to Cork Airport this Summer
Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is encouraging customers to take the bus when travelling to Cork Airport this summer.
Young Adult passengers can travel on Cork City services (Carrigaline/Ringaskiddy) to Cork Airport for as little as 65 cent using the TFI Go App, while adults can travel for just €1.55 using their Leap card. Young Adults travelling on Route 226 to/from Kinsale can travel for €2.04, while adults can travel for €4.06.
“With the summer holiday season fast approaching, we would like to encourage our passengers to take some of the stress out of their holiday plans,” said Aled Williams, Bus Éireann, Senior Operations Manager in the Southern region. “Travelling by bus to Cork Airport is the ideal way to begin your journey, passengers can sit back and relax in comfort, with no need to worry about fuel costs or parking. Our services to Cork Airport are frequent, operating every hour on weekdays and a typical journey from Cork City to Cork Airport takes just 20 minutes”.
“Over 4.5 million passengers have made journeys with us in Cork so far this year, more people than ever are using our services, passenger numbers nationally are 20-30% higher than they were in 2019, we look forward to a busy summer of connecting our customers to Cork Airport and beyond.”

Bus Éireann operates 76 daily services between Cork City and Cork Airport and from communities including Ballygarvan, Carrigaline, Shanbally, Ringaskiddy, Haulbowline, Belgooly and Kinsale. The first morning service arrives at Cork Airport at 5.38am and the last departure from Cork Airport leaves at midnight. Customers can connect to local and long-distance bus services at Parnell Place Bus Station, as well as rail connections at Kent Railway Station.
The TFI Go app allows you to buy tickets directly from your phone, your ticket is downloaded to the app and can be used to travel straight away. There is no need for printing, just activate before each journey and show your driver while boarding.
When using a TFI Leap Card on Bus Éireann PSO services, customers can get a 30% discount on single adult fares.
