Bus Éireann wants to share the gift of reading with #ReadMór on Culture Night!

Culture Night 2022 takes place across Ireland on Friday, 23 September and Bus Éireann are encouraging customers to #ReadMór, in partnership with the Arts Council. To celebrate Culture Night 2022, the Arts Council will be gifting free books by 21 top Irish authors to customers travelling on Bus Éireann’s Expressway services.

The Read Mór festivities will see 'book conductors' gifting books to customers at Bus Éireann’s bus stations in Dublin, Sligo and Waterford from 2pm until 4pm.

Eleanor Farrell, Bus Éireann Chief Commercial Officer says “Bus Éireann is proud to be part of Culture Night 2022 and to offer this wonderful opportunity for our Expressway customers to enjoy the gift of a book to read while travelling on our services. Among the main benefits of taking one of our Expressway services is the ability to sit back, relax and travel in comfort, made even better when accompanied by a good book to read. We are delighted to partner with the Arts Council for #ReadMór as part of Culture Night this year and encourage our customers travelling to keep an eye out for a book conductor on Friday, 23 September. ”

Director of the Arts Council Maureen Kennelly said: “As part of the Arts Council’s 70th Anniversary year, Read Mór is our gift to the public on Culture Night.

For many decades, we have supported writers and publishers in Ireland; with Read Mór, we are gifting the opportunity to discover and enjoy some of the exciting and diverse range of writers in Ireland today and we hope in turn that passengers will regift the joy of reading.

This could not have happened without the enthusiasm of the authors and publishers, our partners in Bus Éireann and Irish Rail, and we are immensely grateful for their support in making Read Mór happen this Culture Night.”
