Stories of Hope and Recovery go on tour at Limerick Bus Station
Expressway, Ireland’s premium inter-regional coach service has partnered up with Grow Mental Health to raise awareness of mental health issues. Customers will see a photo exhibition with stories of recovery and hope in the bus station in Limerick. The display started in early October in Busáras, Dublin and moved to Waterford, Cork and Galway Bus Stations before moving to Limerick this week and will move to other regional locations over the coming weeks. This partnership initiative is to promote positive mental health and raise vital funds for Grow Mental Health, the non-profit group.

Bus Éireann invests €16 million in Expressway: 30 new coaches and new ticketing technology
Bus Éireann, the national bus company, has invested €16 million in its commercial Expressway inter-regional coach service. This includes 30 Expressway coaches for use nationwide – the first of which will enter into passenger service in Waterford today. Expressway is the largest commercial bus operator in the country, carrying six million passengers in 2019.

Minister Naughton welcomes commencement of delivery of Bus Éireann electric hybrid fleet to Galway
Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD, today marked the entry into service of the first of Bus Éireann’s electric hybrid vehicles to its Galway city fleet – a first for Ireland’s national bus company. Funded by the National Transport Authority, and carrying the new, distinctive Transport for Ireland green and yellow livery, these buses mean reduced emissions and improved air quality. Twenty six buses will enter service over the next number of weeks, with a further batch being delivered towards the end of 2021 to complete the transition of the Galway City bus network to low emission electric hybrid buses.

As capacity on public transport increases to 50% from tomorrow as part of the phased reopening of the country, Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, is advising customers to travel outside of peak times, to book a guaranteed seat for inter-regional Expressway travel and to be prepared for greater demand on some services, especially during periods of fine weather, at weekends and morning/evening commute times.
