Faster Journey Times on Expressway Route 2 Dublin to Wexford

Customers of Expressway Route 2, Dublin Airport – Dublin – Arklow – Gorey – Enniscorthy – Wexford are set to benefit from faster journey times to Dublin City and Dublin Airport from this weekend.

A revised service comes into place on Sunday, September 27, 2015 next, with more use of the M11 motorway, an additional stop in Arklow and sixteen services per day with limited stops.Highlights of the revised service include:

- Limited stop services with shorter journey times

- Reduced running time across the day

- Motorway service

- Additional stop in Arklow (Knockmore)

- Wexford to Dublin Airport in 2 hours 25 minutes

The service changes are led by customer demand and have been authorised by the National Transport Authority (NTA).

Due to the use of the upgraded motorway the route will no longer service Jack White’s Cross, Ballincor (Ballindarrig) Beehive and Kilmacanogue. Route 133 will continue to serve Kilmacanogue, Dublin and Dublin Airport, providing up to 22 daily services on weekdays, in each direction. Route 133 will continue to service Jack White’s Cross, Ballincor (Ballindarrig) and Beehive on the 07.00 service to Dublin from Arklow, and the 17.45 service from Dublin to Gorey. 

Last month, Route 384: Dublin – Arklow – Gorey was incorporated into Route 133, serving Dublin Airport – Dublin – Wicklow – Arklow - Gorey *

Expressway Product Manager Seán Forde said the revised Route 2 service will be particularly beneficial for customers from Wexford travelling to Dublin Airport.

“The off peak journey time for Route 2 from Wexford to Dublin Airport and vice versa will be cut by 15 minutes, with our coaches making use of the newly upgraded motorway.Customers in Arklow will also be serviced by an additional stop in Knockmore, and we will continue to provide sixteen services per day on the route,” he said.

*The current Route 384 departure from Gorey at 06:50hrs now operates as Route 133X and will continue to depart Gorey at 06.50.The current Route 384 departure from Dublin (Busáras) at 17.45 now operates as Route 133 and will continue to depart Dublin (Busáras) at 17.45.
