Limerick - St Patricks Day Parade & International Band Parade 17 & 18 March 2018

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Limerick City on Saturday, 17 March with the Limerick International Marching Band Championship taking place on Sunday, 18 March

All Bus Éireann Limerick City services will operate as per Sunday Timetables on both days with the following amendments between 0700 and 1600 due to road closures.

There will also be further amendments to 302, 303 and 306 services to facilitate a fireworks display on Sunday, 18 March between 2000 and 2230

Route 301 Father Russel Road/City Centre/Westbury

  • Inbound from Father Russell Rd. the 301 service will operate to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. From Colbert Station it will travel to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William St. It will then operate via Pennywell, Lelia St. and Clare St. to Island Rd. At the junction of Island Rd. and Athlunkard St. it will continue on to Westbury as per regular route.
  • From Westbury the service will operate as normal to the junction of Island Rd. and Athlunkard St. Operating via Island Rd., Clare St., Lelia St. and Pennywell it will proceed via Sexton St. to Colbert Station and on to Father Russell Rd. as per regular route.

Route 302 City Centre/Caherdavin

  • Service will operate both inbound and outbound on the normal route with the Terminus moving to the Strand Hotel.

Route 303 O’Malley Park/City Centre/Pineview

  • From O’Malley Pk. the 303 service will operate to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William Street. Operating via Pennywell, Lelia St., Clare St. and Island Rd. the service will travel over Thomond Bridge to High St. and on to Moyross and Craeval Pk. as per regular route.
  • From Moyross and Craeval Pk. the 303 service will operate from High Street over Thomond Bridge to Island Road. Via Clare St., Lelia St., Pennywell and on to Lower Roxboro Rd. opposite the CBS School. It will then continue on to O’Malley Pk. as per regular route.

Route 304 Raheen/City Centre/UL

  • The 304 service will operate from Raheen to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. From Colbert Station it will travel to Future Sound and Vision on Upper William St. It will then operate from Future Sound and Vision on its regular route to the University of Limerick.
  • From the University of Limerick the 304 service will operate its regular route to Mulgrave St., opposite the Fire Station. It will then operate via Sexton St. to Colbert Station, then travelling via Hyde Rd. to the Crescent Shopping Centre and on to Raheen as per Regular Route.

Route 304A Raheen/Station/Monaleen

  • The 304A service will operate from Raheen to Colbert Station via Hyde Rd. instead of O Connell Avenue and Barrington St. The remainder of the 304A route will operate as regular.

Route 305 City Centre/St Marys Park & 306 City Centre/Ballynanty

  • From Ballynanty the service will operate via High Rd. and Bellfield Gardens to the Maternity Hospital. It will then operate via Clancy Strand and the Treaty Stone over Thomond Bridge to St Mary’s Pk.
  • From St Mary’s Pk. the service will operate over Thomond Bridge via the Treaty Stone and Clancy Strand to the Maternity Hospital. It will then operate via Bellfield Gardens and High Road to Ballynanty.

Expressway/Stage Carriage Routes

Route 13/14 Kerry/Limerick
All services to operate via Hyde Road between 07.00 and 16.00 on 17 & 18 March.

Route 51/X51
All services to operate via Hyde Road and Shannon Tunnel between 07.00 and 16.00 on 17 & 18 March.

Route 343 Limerick/Shannon/Ennis
All services to operate via Ivan’s and Shannon Tunnel, no pick up/drop off between Ivan’s and Bus Station between 07.00 and 16.00 on 17 & 18 March.

Fireworks Display Sunday, 18 March: Services affected between 20.00 and 22.30

Route 302 City Centre/Caherdavin

  • The service will operate inbound from Caherdavin via Cratloe Rd to the Junction with Shelbourne Rd. It will then operate via Shelbourne Rd and Shelbourne Rd Lower to O’Callaghan Strand with the Terminus moving to the Strand Hotel.
  • Service will operate outbound from the Strand Hotel on regular route.

Route 303 O’Malley Park/City Centre/Pineview

  • From Moyross and Craeval Pk. the 303 service will operate from High Road over Thomond Bridge to Island Road. It will then operate via Bridge St. and Patrick Street to William St. It will then continue on to O’Malley Pk. as per regular route.
  • From O’Malley Pk. the 303 service will operate to Arthurs Quay. From Arthurs Quay it will Operate via Bridge St. To Athlunkard St. and Island Rd Stores and via Thomond Bridge to Moyross and Craeval Pk.

Route 306 City Centre/Ballynanty

  • From Ballynanty the service will operate via High Road over Thomond Bridge to Island Road. It will then operate via Bridge St., Patrick Street and O’Connell St to the junction with Shannon St. It will then operate via Shannon St. to Henry St.
  • From Henry St. the service will operate via Liddy St, Arthurs Quay and Bridge St to Island Rd. It will then operate over Thomond Bridge to Ballananty.
