Cork - St Patricks Day Diversions

The following diversions will be place on St. Patrick’s Day, 17 March from 07.00 until the roads re-open:

Northbound Services

The following services will depart every20-30 minutes approx. from St. Patrick’s Quay
No.202 to Knocknaheeney
No.203 to Farranree
No.207 to Ballyvolane
No.208 to Lotabeg
No.215 to Blarney/Cloghroe (Every Hour)

Southbound Services

The following services will depart from Anglesea Street (opposite Market Bar)
Route 220 to Carrigaline/Crosshaven/Fountainstown
Route 223 to Monkstown/Ringaskiddy/Haulbowline

The following services will depart every20-30 minutes approx. from from Eglington Street
No.202 to Mahon

The following services will depart every20-30 minutes approx. from from Anglesea St. (opposite Market Bar)
No.203 to Ballyphehane
No.206 to Grange
No.207 to Donnybrook
No.215 to Mahon Point (Jacobs Island)
No.216 to Mount Oval

The following services will depart every20-30 minutes approx. from from Washington St.
No.205 to C.I.T.
No.208 to Bishopstown
Route 220 to Ballincollig/EMC
There will be no 205 service to kent station for duration of closure. Passengers should board Route 226A in Parnell Place for service to Kent Station

The following services will depart every 30 minutes approx. from from South Main St
No.214 to CUH
No.216 to Glasheen/C.U.H. (Every Hour)

Services to Macroom/West Cork will depart from Provincial Stop, Washington Street.

Route 226 will operate to Cork City via Cotter Street, Old Station Road, Eglington Street to Bus Station, Parnell Place and Kent Station. Services from Cork Coty will not serve stop at City Hall – Passengers should board Route 226 in Parnell Place Bus Station.

Black Ash Park & Ride
First bus at 09.00 hours to/from temporary stop on Anglesea Street (across from Market Bar) to Black Ash until finish

All other services will depart from Bus Station, Parnell Place. Customers, however, may encounter some delays to services.

Ballincollig

Main Street, Ballincollig will be closed from 13.00 to 17.00 approximately due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
As a result the services will operate as follows:

from Cork:
Services will operate as normal to the Powdermills and then turn left onto the Link Road and turn right onto the Kilumney Road and turn right down Barry’s Road to the White Horse and normal service thereafter.

to Cork:
Services will operate as normal to Muskerry and then turn left onto Old Fort Road (behind barracks). Normal service as far as Sheares Street.

BANDON

Services will operate as follows between 14.00 and 15.30 approximately due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

Services from Cork to West Cork will operate to Kellehers (Bandon). Turn bus at Kellehers and then operate via the by-pass.

Services to Cork will operate via the by-pass to Kellehers. Buses should turn at Kellehers for Cork.

BLARNEY

Blarney Village will be closed from 14.30 to 17.00 approximately due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

As a result services inbound and outbound will operate via the By-Pass (behind the Church). Temporary bus stops will be in place for passengers to board/alight services during this closure.

Carrigaline

Carrigaline St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place from 13:00 to 15:30 approximately and as a result Route 220 should operate as follows:

Outbound – Cork/Crosshaven:
Services will operate as normal to Ashgrove Roundabout, then left via Relief Road to roundabout (Lidl). At the Roundabout, traffic will be diverted left on Crosshaven Road, turn right at first junction (before Kilnagleary Business Park) and proceed up hill to Roundabout at Forest Hill Housing Estate. Take third exit onto Ferney Road to junction of Ferney Road and Church Hill (Fosters Cross). Turn right down Church Hill and left onto Lower Kilmoney Road and proceed to old terminus at Liosbourne.

Inbound services:
Services will depart old terminus at Liosbourne, to Forest Hill Roundabout and to R612 and operate as per above in reverse order.

Kinsale

St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place from 12.30 to 14.30 approximately and as a result the main stops in Kinsale will be closed. Therefore, services to/from Kinsale will drop off, turn and pick up at the old Supervalu.

Cahir

Main Street will be closed from 12.10 to 13.15 due to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

During this closure, passengers may board services at disused garage forecourt (Keatings Garage) opposite the Mart on the Old Cork Road.

Carrigtwohill

St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place from 13.15 to 14.15 approximately.

Outbound services are unaffected

Inbound service 13.35 from Ballinacurra will be unable to serve Carrigtwohill

Cashel

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Cashel from 13.45 to 16.00.

As a result the following diversions will be in place:

Dublin bound services: will enter Cashel as normal and exit via Friar Street/Clonmel Road interchange and onto N8 (by-pass).

Cork bound services: wil proceed along N8 (by-pass), take Fethard/Clonmel exit to enter Cashel via Clonmel Road/Friar Street and leave Cashel as normal.

Fermoy

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fermoy will take place from 10.30 to 13.00 approximately.

Temporary bus stops will be in place by Abbeyville Guesthouse for intending passengers to board/alight services.

Traffic congestion and delays are expected in area.

MACROOM

Due to St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Macroom, Main Street will be closed from 15.30 to 17.00 approximately.

As a result the following services should operate:

Inbound Expressway services
The 13.50 & 15.50 services from Tralee/Ballyvourney/Macroom/Cork will operate via the following route – turn left off New Street before the bridge and operate via Masseytown and Coolyhane (By-Pass), proceeding to eastern end of town and re-joining main road to Coachford Junction.

Outbound Expressway service
The 15.30 & 16.30 services from Cork/Macroom/Ballyvourney/Tralee will turn right before Macroom Town at Coachford Junction and proceed via Coolyhane (By-Pass) and Masseytown, turning right after passing O’Riada’s Bar onto New Street and normal route thereafter.

Passengers wishing to board/alight services in Macroom in either direction will be facilitated on New Street or at Coachford Junction.

Mallow

The Mallow St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place from 13.00 to 15.15 approximately and as a result services will operate via the Train Station to collect/drop off passengers.

Youghal

The St. Patricks Day Parade will take place from approx. 12.30 to 14.30 and as a result the Main Street will be closed

Outbound passengers may board buses at Summerfield Cross, Cork Hill or end of Cork Hill and passengers travelling from Youghal to Cork may board buses at Aherne’s end of Cork Hill and at Summerfield Cross.
