Full Day Tours to Newgrange and Glendalough with Bus Éireann

Visitors to Ireland and staycationers can enjoy seeing some of Ireland’s greatest attractions – Newgrange and Glendalough – with ease this summer with Bus Éireann day tours from Dublin.

The Bus Éireann tours operate from early January to late December, five days a week from Wednesday to Sunday. The price for an adult ticket is €31 and includes entry fees to the Newgrange tomb and Boyne Valley Visitor Centre on the Newgrange tour and admission charges to Powerscourt Gardens and Glendalough Visitor Centre on Glendalough Tour. A further 10 per cent saving can be made by purchasing the day tour tickets on-line at www.buseireann.ie

The day tours, which operate from Busaras in Dublin city centre, take in some of Ireland’s most scenic locations with beautiful and fascinating sites.

The Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens and Wicklow Panorama Tour travels through the “Garden of Ireland” to visit sites such as the stunning Powerscourt Gardens, the Wicklow Mountains, the Wicklow Gap and the monastic ruins at Glendalough. The trip includes a guided tour in historic Glendalough. Glendalough, or the Glen of two lakes, is one of the most treasured sites in Co. Wicklow. Glendalough was founded in the sixth century and is steeped in Irish history and culture.

The Glendalough, Powerscourt Garden and Wicklow Panorama Tour operate from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive up to and including 30th September, 2011. Winter schedule then operates until December. Tours depart Busaras at 10am and are scheduled to return at 5.45pm.

The Boyne Valley & Newgrange Tour operates via the Hill of Tara and visits the Boyne Valley Visitor Centre at Newgrange. Customers can explore the history of one of the most ancient sites in the land and see the magnificent prehistoric monument of Newgrange. The tour includes a visit to the famous Newgrange tomb, which is older than the pyramids in Egypt and predates Stonehenge by about a thousand years. The Boyne Valley offers beautiful surrounding and is one of Ireland’s most fertile and wooded landscapes.

The Boyne Valley and Newgrange Tour operates everyday except Fridays at present up to and including the 29th September, 2011. Winter schedule then operates until December. The tour departs Busaras at 10am and returns at 5:45pm.
