U14 Hurling Clubs Head West for Féile na nGael sponsored by Bus Éireann

The 2011 Féile na nGael sponsored by Bus Éireann will take place this weekend in Co. Galway.

The event, which will run from June 24-26, will see clubs from all over Ireland head west to take part in one of the GAA’s finest showpieces of young talent.

Féile na nGael, which is now in its 41st year of existence, is a national festival of Hurling, Camogie and Handball for boys and girls under 14 years of age. In all there will be 88 Hurling, 68 Camogie and 40 Handball teams participating in the festivities this year.

Clubs from around the country will head to Galway for the Féile weekend where they will be hosted by various Clubs within the county. Many accomplished hurlers, past and present, have participated in Féile in their youth. 

The traditional Féile parade, which marks the beginning of the competition, takes place in Loughrea on Friday, June 24 at 7.30pm. The major finals will take place in Pearse Stadium on Sunday, June 26 while the group games will be played at different venues around the county such as Athenry and Clarinbridge. With just two days to go to the start of the 2011 Féile na nGael sponsored by Bus Éireann finals Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael Criostóir Ó Cuana anticipates a unique celebration of Hurling, Camogie and Handball again this year.
