Bus Éireann Update  November 28th 2010

Due to weather conditions in the east, some Bus Eireann services operating in that part of the country are experiencing delays and distribution.

Cork: All services are operating with some diversions. 

Route 40: is not serving Kilmac or Kilmeaden.

Route 8: is operating via the motor way and not serving Johnstown, Urlingford etc.

Route 2: Waterford will operated to Gorey to the crossover with Dublin

Route 4: Will operate via the motor way

Route 2 Dublin Airport–Dublin-Rosslare – services will operate to and from Gorey.

 

There are some delays to other services operating in the east of the country.

 

Bus Éireann will continue to closely monitor weather and road conditions throughout the day.

Bus Éireann Update 0745 November 29th 2010

 

The vast majority of Bus Éireann services around the country are operating as per normal this morning with some delays in affected areas. Bus Éireann will seek to maintain as many services as possible over the coming days subject to road and weather conditions. Bus Éireann will continue to closely monitor weather and road conditions throughout the day.

 

Due to weather conditions in some parts of the country, some Bus Éireann services operating in that part of the country are experiencing delays and disruption. See below for details

 

These weather and road conditions are also likely to result in some disruption to school transport services in affected areas from this morning. School bus services operating on minor roads in County Louth, Cavan, Waterford, south Wexford and Kilkenny are likely to be subject to diversion and possible cancellation. Bus Éireann local inspectors in consultation with local schools will assess the situation in each area of the country from early this morning. Several primary and secondary schools in Co Wicklow and most schools in Co Monaghan have already announced that they are to close today.

 

Road passenger services affected by weather and road conditions -

 

Route 2 Dublin Airport-Rosslare – services will operate to and from Gorey only.

 

Route 64 – Derry-Galway – services delayed due to road conditions between Derry and Letterkenny

 

161 Dundalk-Newry – 0800 service cancelled

 

133 Arklow-Wicklow via Avoca – 0800 service cancelled

 

166 Dundalk-Carrickmacross – operating on main road only

 

167 Dundalk-Ardee – operating on M1 both ways

 

168 Dundalk-Annagassan – not operating currently

 

175 Monaghan-Cavan – not operating currently

 

Services in West Cork are currently unable to operate.
