Bus Eireann Service Update 5th Jan 2010 17.25

The majority of Bus Eireann services are operating to schedule with some delays.

However due to continuing adverse weather and road conditions, the following services are affected

Evening Service Updates - 17.00hrs

The 20X service to Galway, due to depart Busáras at 1830 this evening, is cancelled.

Route 111 departures ex Busáras at 1730 this evening and ex Athboy at 0625 tomorrow morning will not serve Kildalkey.

Route 103 departures will not serve Ratoath in either direction. Ratoath will however be served on route 105.

Route 100 is been diverted onto the motorway from Dunleer and back onto its normal route at Monasterboice.This is due to freezing conditions.

Review will be done again in the morning.

16.45 and 18.45 Sligo to Derry route 64 cancelled.

Other services to/from Norht West are now operating but with long delays on some routes

20.35 LIMERICK TO TRALEE : WILL OPERATE.

Service Update 5th January 2010 1300

Most Bus Eireann services are operating throughout the country with some delays. However, due to continuing adverse weather and road conditions, some services are disrupted in Cork, the south west, north Leinster, and the north west.

In Cork city, there are a number of diversions in place on roads that are affecting a number of city services. Several services in West Cork are unable to operate or are diverted.

All route 30 services will resume operation to Donegal this evening. Services to depart Busáras as per timetable i.e. 1700, 1800 (To Swanlinbar), 1900, 2200 and 2400.(updated 15.53)

All services in Dundalk area are operating with the exceptions of Drogheda based routes 190 and 163.(updated 15.40)

All services in Galway are currently running – There are some delays on Galway/Sligo and Galway/Carraroe due to conditions.

1115 Sligo/Galway did not operate earlier but we are covering the return at 1600.

Some services may be curtailed in Gallway depending on conditions en route so there will be continious reviews of the service.

The following is the situation regarding Limerick City Services this afternoon 16.02

19.35 LIMERICK TO KILLARNEY WILL NOT OPERATE

20.35LIMERICK TO TRALEE : WILL OPERATE.

NO SERVICES OPERATING ON CAREW PARK, BALLYNANTY AND ST. MARY’S PARK DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS.

Limited service has begun on Caherdavin – operating via Ennis Road and back in to city via Brookville Avenue.

In Limerick city, two services are operating, but with delays and diversions. All other Limerick city services are cancelled for the moment.

In Limerick, Doolin and Kilkee are now operating again.

The following Limerick city services will be back in operation from 1pm – Lynwood, Pineview, O’Malley Park.

Raheen – Main Road only, not serving Industrial Estate or Greenfields, and University service are operating with delays and diversions.

The following routes are NOT OPERATING at the moment: Ballynanty, Caherdavin,St. Mary’s Park, Craeval,Carew Park.

15.00 Ennis/Doonbeg(333) service will operate to Lahinch only 15.25Ennis/Kilrush Kilkee. 17.00Kilkee/Kilrush/ Ennis services (336) are operating with delays.

In Clare, services via Doolin, Kilkee and Cliffs of Moher are not operating at present.

In Kerry, there is disruption to services travelling to Tralee from Caherciveen and Dingle.

In Leinster, there is disruption to services operating to Togher, Laytown, Ratoath, Rathangan, and Granard.

In North West, there are significant delays on routes Donegal-Dublin, Sligo-Dublin, Sligo-Enniskillen. Dublin-Donegal service is cancelled at the moment.

Bus Eireann will continue to monitor this situation closely and we would advise customers to contact their local travel office for information on individual services. Road conditions in affected areas are expected to worsen this evening as the temperature drops.

Bus Eireann would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.

Update For The North West 1200hrs

Bus Eireann services in the Northwest are experiencing long delays on the following routes - Letterkenny to Dublin & Sligo to Dublin. Route 30 Dublin to Donegalis temporarily cancelled due to heavy snow and icy road conditions. The service from Donegal at 1500 Donegal to Dublin is however expected to run.

Services on the Enniskillen/Sligo route 66 have severely disrupted due to weather conditions. 1135 Enniskillen/Sligo cancelled. 1145 Sligo/Enniskillen delayed and may be cancelled.

The 12.30 Limerick / Dublin service will not be departing until 13.15 approx due to the late arrival of 07.30 Dublin / Limerick service. All other services are running normally except for the Kerry services. The following services should operate on the Kerry Corridor.

15.35 Limerick / Tralee which will operate an 18.00 Tralee / Limerick service.

16.35 Limerick / Killarney

17.35 Limerick / Tralee

18.35 Limerick / Killarney

19.35 Limerick / Tralee

20.35 Limerick / Killarney

Tralee has cancelled the 19.00 Tralee / Limerick and the 21.35 Limerick / Tralee services.

1100 service 190 Drogheda - Laytown will not operate.

Serious delays on routes 30 Dublin/Donegal and 32 Letterkeny/Dublin. At the moment the 1100 Donegal/Dublin will not operate as the snow is falling heavily in Donegal town, however the streets are being gritted so the service will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. Delays on routes 22 Ballina/Dublin, 52 Ballina-Westport/Galway and Sligo/Dublin 23.

Local bus services in North West operating with the exception of Glencolmcille/Donegal 490 and Killybegs/Dungloe 492 services.

115 Dublin-Longford – unable to operate via Killicuan

126 Dublin-Kildare – unable to operate via Rathangan

166 Dundalk-Cavan – can only operate to Carrickmacross

Due to an accident in Julianstown all 101 and 101X from 0800 are now delayed. We will be diverting all services onto the motorway and back onto the old road at Gormanstown, until road is clear (9.45am).

Inter-city services from Limerick and Limerick city services are disrupted. Some services in Clare and Kerry are also disrupted.

Services in West Cork are disrupted with routes 222, 224, 230 currently cancelled. Some city services are diverted.

In the north-west, Derry-Sliogo and Donegal-Dublin routes are cancelled at moment.
