Bus Éireann awarded Passenger Transport Company of the Year

Bus Éireann has won the prestigious Passenger Transport Company of the Year accolade at the Irish Logistics and Transport Awards, which took place in the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Dublin last night, April 7th.

These national annual awards recognise and celebrate excellence in logistics and transport and “encourage teams and individuals to constantly raise the bar, to innovate and maintain their commitment to the industry in their day-to-day endeavours.”

The judges selected Bus Éireann - who beat off stiff competition from other industry competitors – as winners of the award for their “commitment to quality service, and initiatives that reflected an improvement in customer satisfaction in 2015.” They also said that “customers feel safe and regard it as a modern and progressive company” and that “this struck a chord with our panel who wanted to reward the company for its efforts.”

These initiatives in 2015 included the appointment of a new Customer Care Team to respond and alert customers to any new real time information in relation to our services, and investment in new modern fleet including 40 luxury Expressway coaches and 57 new single and double deck coaches and buses. Bus Éireann also rolled out a new educational campaign in 2015 to highlight the importance to school children of belting up safety while travelling on our school transport services.

Over 100 network changes and improvements were implemented on services across Ireland and the company collaborated with the State initiative, Irish Year of Design 2015, to create five unique bus wraps that showcased the best of Irish design - including fashion designer Orla Kiely and graffiti artist Maser.

Bus Éireann chief executive Martin Nolan said the company were honoured and privileged to be named Passenger Transport Company of the Year 2015 at the gala industry awards in Dublin:

“We have worked very hard on new initiatives to benefit customers across the board, and we are delighted to receive recognition of this from the judging panel, and our industry peers.

In 2015 we were the second highest climbers in the Reptrak survey of Ireland’s top 100 brands, so to win Passenger Transport Company of the Year 2015 is a real endorsement of our continued efforts to excel at what we do.”
