Switching on of Christmas Lights, Cork City - 13 November 2014

Cork City Council have advised that St. Patrick Street will be closed to all traffic from  Academy Street north side to Drawbridge Street south side on Thursday, 13 November 2014 from 16.00 to 21.00 to facilitate the switching on of the Christmas lights. 

SOUTHBOUND SERVICES AFFECTED FROM 16:00

NORTHBOUND SERVICES AFFECTED FROM 17:00

As a result, the following route diversions will apply:-

Route 202 to Knocknaheeney: Unaffected 

Route 202 to Mahon: Unaffected 

Route 203 to Farranree: Unaffected 

Route 203 to Ballyphehane:  Services will operate as normal from Farranree as far as Christy Ring Bridge. Turn right at junction of Christy Ring Bridge/Lavitts Quay. Travel along Lavitt’s Quay, turn left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street, to bus shelter (Game Shop) on St.Patrick Street. Normal outbound service to Ballyphehane thereafter.  

Route 205 to Kent Station:   Services will operate as normal as far as junction with Washington Street/Grand Parade and then turn right along Grand Parade, South Mall. Pick up any intending passengers for Kent Station at No. 206 bus shelter. Lower Oliver Plunkett Street, left onto Custom House Street, Michael Collins Bridge, left onto Penrose Quay, right onto Ship Street, Lower Glanmire Road to Kent Station.  Southbound services will operate from the Bus Shelter near Game Stop, St. Patrick Street 

Route 205 to CIT: Services will operate from Kent Station as normal as far as Parnell Place Bus Station.  Then via Merchants Quay, Lavitt’s Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter near Game Stop on St. Patrick Street. Normal outbound route to CIT thereafter 

Route 206 to Grange: Unaffected 

Route 206 ex Grange: Unaffected 

Route 207 From Donnybrook to Ballyvolane: Services will operate via South Mall/Parnell Place via St. Patrick Bridge (terminus), Leitrim Street, McCurtain Street, Summerhill North and normal outbound route thereafter.

 

Route 207 From Glenheights (Ballyvolane) to Donnybrook:  Services will operate as normal via Merchants  Quay, Lavitts Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter on St. Patrick Street.(Game Shop). Normal outbound route to Donnybrook thereafter. Northbound services will operate from Temporary Bus Stop Bridge Street.  Southbound services will operate from the Bus Shelter near Game Stop, St. Patrick Street

 

Route 208 to Mayfield:  Services from Bishopstown/Curraheen will operate as normal as far Sheares Street, then via Grattan Street, Batchelors Quay, St. Patrick’s Bridge, Bridge Street (Terminus), MacCurtain Street and normal outbound route to Mayfield. 

Route 208 to Bishopstown: Services will operate as normal via Merchants Quay, Lavitts Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter on St. Patrick Street. Normal outbound route to Bishopstown/Curraheen thereafter.

Northbound services will operate from Temporary Bus Stop Bridge Street

Southbound services will operate from the Bus Shelter near Game Stop, St. Patrick Street 

Route 214 ex CUH:  Services will operate as normal as far as South Mall.  Buses will pick up/drop passengers at the 206 Bus Shelter on South Mall for the duration of the road closure. 

Route 214 to CUH:  Services will operate from the 206 Bus Shelter, South Mall and operate via Parnell Place Bridge, Anglesea Street, South Terrace, Georges Quay, Sullivans Quay, Proby’s Quay and normal route thereafter to CUH. 

Route 215 to Mahon:  Services will operate via Merchants Quay Riverside (Terminus), Clontarf Street,Terence MacSwiney Quay, Anglesea Street and normal route thereafter. 

Southbound services will operate  from the Bus Shelter at VHI House, South Mall (206)

Route 216 to Mount Oval: Unaffected. 

Route 216 ex Mount Oval: Unaffected.  

Route 220: Unaffected 

Route 223: Unaffected        

Services to Macroom/West Cork: Services will operate from the Bus Station via Merchants Quay, Lavitts Quay, Grattan Street to Washington Street to Provincial Stop and normal outbound route thereafter. 

Services to Tralee:  Services will operate from the Bus Station via Clontarf Street, Clontarf Bridge, Mac Swiney Quay, Anglesea Street, South Terrace, Georges Quay, Sullivans Quay, Frenches Quay; right to Sharman Crawford Street; left onto St. Finbarr’s Bridge and normal route thereafter.
