Bus Éireann announce revamped Limerick to Dublin City/Dublin Airport service

Bus Éireann passengers travelling to the capital or Dublin Airport on our route 12 service from Limerick, can look forward shorter journey times, and avail of special promotional fares from as low as €9 one way, from 14 September 2014. As part of our new X12 route, journey times to Dublin will be cut by 25 minutes on 18 daily services to the city centre and Dublin Airport. A new daily non-stop service from Limerick to Dublin will also be introduced, with a transit time of just two hours 20 minutes. Bus Éireann will be the only company to offer this daily non-stop direct service between the two cities.

From 14 September 2014 a new X12 timetable will operate from Limerick to Dublin, serving the University of Limerick, Nenagh, Roscrea and Portlaoise before terminating at Dublin Airport. For a six week period from then until 31 October 2014, customers can avail of special offer €9 one way fares from any location between Limerick and Dublin City. The journey time from Limerick station to Dublin city will drop to just two hours fifty minutes, with less stops and more use of the motorway network. Bus Éireann wants to offer the quickest, most efficient service to Dublin City/Dublin Airport, and are confident our new Route X12 service will deliver this to customers. Journey times from Nenagh and Roscrea will also be speedier on this service.

With special low fares up until Halloween, customers can relax on our luxury coaches and avail of WiFi and air conditioning, without the worry or costs associated with driving, parking and tolls. Our new daily direct service – which will depart at 1245 and arrives in Dublin at 1505 - is bound to be popular with Limerick passengers. From Dublin Airport, this non-stop service will depart Busáras at 1700 and arrives in Limerick at 1925.

As a result of the revised route to provide faster journey times in line with customer demand, Bus Éireann will no longer service Daly’s Cross, Birdhill, Toomevara, Moneygall, Borris-in-Ossory, Castletown and Mountrath, on the route 12. These areas are already well served by other operators on this route. The X12 will operate daily between 0500 and 2000. An extra service is also being introduced on Fridays and Sundays to cater for weekend travellers. This will depart Limerick at 1845 and arrives in Dublin at 2135. A promotional and information campaign is being run in the lead-up to the new X12 timetable launch on 14 September 2014, and we look forward to offering improved, faster services for our customers.
