Sightseeing Tours with Bus Éireann

Visitors to Ireland and staycationers can enjoy some of Ireland’s top tours with ease this summer, aboard Bus Éireann’s great value day tours from Dublin. These include the monastic ruins at Glendalough and its valley of the two lakes, Powerscourt Gardens and the historic wonders of Newgrange and the Boyne Valley.

The Bus Éireann tours operate until late September. A value adult ticket return at €29 includes admission charges to Powerscourt Gardens and Glendalough Visitor Centre on the Glendalough Tour. A further 5% saving can be made by purchasing day tour tickets on-line with Bus Éireann.

The tours, which operate from Busáras (Bus Station) in Dublin city centre, take in some of Ireland’s most scenic locations with magnificent and fascinating heritage sites.

The Glendalough and Powerscourt Gardens Tour travels through the “Garden of Ireland” to visit sites such as the stunning Powerscourt Gardens, the Wicklow Mountains, the Wicklow Gap and the monastic ruins at Glendalough. The trip includes a guided tour in historic Glendalough. Glendalough, or the Glen of two lakes, is one of the most important sites of monastic ruins in Ireland. Situated in an idyllic valley with an upper and lower lake, the serenity of Glendalough is further enhanced by the ancient landscape and its most famous landmark – the round tower.

The Glendalough, Powerscourt Garden and Wicklow Panorama Tour operate on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday up to and including 28 September 2014. Tours depart Busáras at 10.00 and are scheduled to return to Busáras at 17.45.

The Newgrange & Boyne Valley tour operates via the Hill of Tara and visits the Boyne Valley Visitor Centre at Newgrange. Customers can explore the history of one of the most ancient sites in the land and see the magnificent prehistoric monument of Newgrange. The tour includes a visit to the famous Newgrange tomb, which is older than the pyramids of Egypt and predates Stonehenge by about a thousand years. The Boyne Valley offers beautiful surrounding and is one of Ireland’s most fertile and wooded landscapes.

The Boyne Valley and Newgrange Tour operates every Thursday and Saturday until 28 September, 2014. The tour departs Busáras at 10.00 and returns back to the bus station at 17.45.
