Travel with Bus Éireann to see some of Ireland’s Magical Christmas Markets

Customers can enjoy seeing some of Ireland’s magical Christmas markets with ease this festive season with Bus Éireann. The fragrance of mulled wine, the aromas of cinnamon and clove, the smell of roasted chestnuts and sweet gingerbread makes Christmas markets a wonderful experience.

Bus Éireann has a wide range of commuter and inter-city services to the following Christmas markets taking place across the country.

The Glow, A Cork Christmas Celebration in Cork city will run until 23 December 2013. It promises to have something for everyone, including a mystical fairy village for kids, an authentic indoor Crafts Exhibition and Fair, a 30m Ferris wheel, a vintage carousel and a great shopping experience for the whole family. There is another Christmas market taking place in Ballincollig on 22 December, which has lots of festive activities taking place including face painting for the kids, music, handmade crafts and a wonderful array of Christmas puddings, cakes, hampers and much more.

The Galway Continental Christmas market in Eyre Square will run until 22 December. Traders from all over Ireland and Europe transform Eyre Square into a Winter Wonderland. Wooden chalets, food, drinks and theatrical delights are some of the things that can be expected. The market has lots of entertainment including live bands, performers, puppet shows and carol singers.

Another Galway Christmas market just off Eyre Square runs until 24 December. It’s in Church Lane just beside the St Nicholas Church and features hundreds of stalls. The traditional market has lots of handmade Christmas food with decorated stalls, lit with powered lights and candles offering a real festive feel for all the family.

The Kilkenny Christmas Market runs until 24 December with top quality traders from Kilkenny and the Southeast to bring the finest goods for that perfect Christmas gift. There is delicious food and drinks for everyone to enjoy in the ambience of carol singers, brass brands, rock and roll bands which will get you in the festive spirit.

The Santa Village runs again this year at Mount Juliet in Kilkenny until 22 December, featuring a theatrical production which promises to be packed full of Christmas wonder and magic. The market is filled with an array of Christmas puddings, Christmas cakes, hampers and gingerbread men along with great gift ideas and treats for your loved ones.

In Waterford city, the Waterford Winterval festival takes place until 31 December. Sights, sounds and aromas transform the side streets of Waterford city into a wonderful Christmas market filled with dozens of stalls serving everything from hot chocolate to warm crepes. Remember to keep the energy levels high in search for that perfect Christmas gift.

The all-weather Christmas Market at the Milk Market in Limerick has a wide variety of produce with an array of stalls and shops selling a great range of artisan foods, crafts, decorations, toys and fashion accessories in a warm and fun environment. The market runs until 24 December and promises to be a great place for all family.

The Docklands Christmas Market at George’s Dock Dublin is back again due to popular demand for the 9th consecutive year, bringing Christmas cheer and magical festive treats. It runs until 23 December and with over 80 stalls promises to be even bigger and better than last year selling Christmas gifts, seasonal food and plenty of stocking fillers. With the Victorian Carnival and Santa Grotto it is surely an eye stopper for every family member to enjoy.
