Travel to Belfast over the festive season with Bus Éireann
If you are travelling between Dublin City and Belfast over the festive season, Bus Éireann is advising Dublin customers to leave the car at home and travel by luxury coach instead.

During the festive season, cities will experience a huge increase in traffic, which can lead to driver frustration and traffic congestion. For customers wishing to avoid the traffic rush, Bus Éireann is advising customers to plan ahead and take the coach.

Bus Éireann’s X1 Expressway coach service has a journey time of 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Travelling by Bus Éireann means that families don’t have to worry about driving early in the morning or late in the evening or about fuel costs, parking or toll charges.

The service operates from Dublin city centre direct to Dublin Airport and then goes on the M1 motorway serving Newry, Banbridge, Sprucefield and Belfast.

Customers should be aware that coaches depart from Dublin (Busáras) to Belfast at 01.00, 03.00, 05.00 and every hour until 23.00. Return coaches from Belfast (Europa Bus Centre) to Dublin depart 01:00, 03.00, 05.00 and every hour until 23.00.

Last year, Bus Éireann added four new top of the range double-deck vehicles to its Dublin City - Dublin Airport - Belfast service providing customers with tables, charging points and 20% extra legroom. All double-deck coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi and selected seats have power sockets and ISOFIX attachment points for child safety making it easier for families to travel. All coaches are wheelchair accessible and meet the highest EU emission standards.

“It’s the most cost effective way for customers to do their Christmas shopping this year by sitting back, relaxing and enjoying getting to their destination in plenty of time with Bus Éireann,” said Joe Kenny, Regional Manager, East, Bus Éireann.

Christmas is not just about shopping; there is a wide range of events taking place. All you have to do is hop on our luxury coach and you will be there.
