St. Patrick Street - Switching on of “Christmas Lightsâ€.
Cork City Council has advised that St. Patrick Street will be closed to all traffic from Merchants Quay to Academy Street from 1530 to 2130 on Friday, 16 November 2012 to facilitate the turning on of the Christmas lights.
As a result, the following route diversions will apply:
No. 203 to Ballyphehane: Services will operate as normal from Farranree as far as Christy Ring Bridge, turning right at junction of Christy Ring Bridge/Lavitts Quay and then continuing along Lavitt’s Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street, to bus shelter (Game Stop) on St.Patrick Street. Normal services will operate outbound to Ballyphehane therafter.
No. 205 to Kent Station: Services will operate as normal as far as the junction with Washington Street/Grand Parade, turning right along Grand Parade and South Mall. Passengers wishing to board/disembark at Kent Station can do so at the 206 bus stop (near V.H.I house). Service will then continue on to Lower Oliver Plunkett Street, left onto Custom House Street, then Michael Collins Bridge, turning left onto Penrose Quay and right onto Ship Street and Lower Glanmire Road to Kent Station.
No. 205 to CIT: Services will operate as normal from Kent Station as far as Parnell Place Bus Station. Then via Merchants Quay, Lavitt’s Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter on St. Patrick Street and then as per normal route to CIT thereafter.
No. 207 to Ballyvolane: Services will operate via South Mall/ Parnell Place to Merchants Quay via Patricks Bridge, Bridge Street, McCurtain Street, Summerhill North and then as per normal outbound route thereafter.
No. 207 to Donnybrook: Services will operate as normal via Merchants Quay, Lavitts Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter on St. Patrick Street (Game Stop) and then as per normal route to Donnybrook thereafter.
No. 208 to Mayfield: Services from Bishopstown/Curraheen will operate as normal as far junction Washingon Street/Grand Parade, then turn right at Grand Parade, along South Mall, Parnell Place, turning left into Merchants Quay to No. 12 Bus Stop. Services will then operate via St. Patrick’s Bridge, McCurtain Street and normal outbound route to Mayfield.
No. 208 to Bishopstown: Services will operate as normal via Merchants Quay, Lavitts Quay, turning left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street to Bus shelter on St. Patrick Street. Normal outbound route to Bisopstown/Curraheen thereafter.
No. 215 to Mahon Point: Services will operate as normal as far a Christy Ring Bridge. Turn right at junction of Christy Ring Bridge/Lavitt’s Quay. Travel along Lavitt’s quay, turn left into Half Moon Street, Academy Street, to bus shelter (Game Stop) on St. Patricks Street. Normal outbound service to Mahon Point thereafter.
No. 214 from CUH: Services will operate as normal as far as South Mall and then light to Grand Parade, via South Terrace, to 207 bus stop at City Library.
No. 214 to CUH: Services will depart from the 207 bus stop at City Library on Grand Parade and normal route thereafter to CUH.
Services to /Ballincollig/Macroom/West Cork: Services will operate from the Bus Station via Clontarf Street, Clontarf Bridge, MacSwiney Quay, Anglesea Street, South Terrace, Georges Quay, Parliament Bridge, left into Grand Parade to Washington Street and then as per normal outbound route thereafter.
