Christmas Shopping in the capital made easy with Bus Éireann

As we head into the festive season, Bus Éireann is encouraging shoppers heading from Co. Wexford to Dublin to leave the car at home and travel by bus instead. During the festive season parking at some of Dublin’s largest shopping centres can lead to driver frustration and traffic congestion. For customers wishing to avoid the traffic rush, Bus Éireann is advising to plan ahead and take the coach.

If you are planning on doing some Christmas shopping in Dublin city centre, customers should note that the No 2 Dublin-Rosslare service has hourly departure times. The Expressway No 2 departs Rosslare every hour from 05.30 to 18.30 and then at 20:30, 21:30, 23:30 and 03.30. Services from Dublin operate hourly from 07.00 to 21:00 and then at 23:00, 03:00 and 05:00.

The Expressway No 2 service is also ideal for customers planning on travelling to Dublin Airport over the Christmas period. The service arrives and departs at Dublin Airport 18 times a day providing customers with an excellent value for money alternative so that customers can avoid taxi fares, toll charges and car parking prices. The journey time from Rosslare to Dublin Airport is 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The Expressway No 2 service goes through the Port Tunnel, which significantly reduces the journey time between Dublin city centre and Dublin Airport.

The Dublin-Rosslare route operates through major population centres such as Arklow, Gorey, Enniscorthy, Wexford Town and Rosslare Harbour and a number of towns along the way, which is ideal for shopaholics who want to stop and shop in several towns.

Fares on the route provide excellent value for money with customers able to travel from Wexford to Dublin Airport for just €29.00 return. Return fares from other destinations are – Enniscorthy-Dublin Airport €29.00, Gorey-Dublin Airport €27.50, and Arklow-Dublin Airport €23.50.

Customers who are planning on doing some Christmas shopping in the capital can easily travel between Rosslare and Dublin on the Expressway No 2 service. Christmas can be a very expensive time but with our excellent fares customers can save money by leaving the car at home and travelling with Bus Éireann,” said Joe Kenny, Regional Manager, East, Bus Éireann.

Christmas is not just about shopping; there is a wide range of events taking place across Wexford and the country. All you have to do is hop on a bus and you will be there.
